Cellist, visual artist and researcher, Macarena Montesinos Fandiño (Vigo, 1982) stands out for being a frontier artist who works from sound art, performance, scenic arts and audiovisual.
She is a member of multiple improvisation and experimental music formations such as the string quartet Suelen Estar Quartet, Límbico, Fonogenia, Orquesta Gallega de Liberación or the now-defunct Omega. To date she has more than a dozen albums published on European and American labels such as CreativeSources (PT), Pan y Rosas (USA) or Setola de Maiale (IT).
She carried out multiple artistic research residencies in Galicia, Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal. She is currently a researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Pontevedra at the University of Vigo, where she studies the relationship between graphic scores and sound improvisation.
