Projects

Martí Rodríguez Blaya - INSTITUT VILATZARA

Exploring the role of a stabiliser in mobility aids. Study, design and creation of an auxiliary device for crutches to carry small loads without spilling liquids.

What is the project about?

Study of the reduced mobility of the lower trunk, whether permanently or not. And to generate a prototype that allows carrying small loads (a glass of water, soup on a plate, etc.) while using the crutches to help the users' own autonomy. This has been done with the use of a 3D printer, and all the parts have been designed with PLA on the printer.

What is the purpose of the project?

The study of reduced mobility and the generation of a prototype that allows small loads to be carried (a glass of water, soup on a plate, etc.) while using crutches to help the users' own autonomy. A new point of view of how to use 3D design tools, looking down to the ground, or rather to our home and the personal situation of everyday people with everyday problems.

How does it work?

The project is based on a double gyroscope, which keeps small loads from tipping over. It has been made with a 3D printer. It is about how to use 3D design tools, and improve the personal situation of people in their daily life with more autonomy.

What does it contribute to the Maker Community?

Innovative design, simple prototyping, and autonomy for the users of this new prototype.
