Valeria Corrales, the Minimaker who triumphed in Got Talent

In recent times, the Maker world is becoming more and more known to the general public, something that is very positive for the entire ecosystem. If 2020 was the year of the Maker Community, 2021 is undoubtedly that of Valeria Corrales, a 12-year-old Minimaker from Huesca who left half of Spain hallucinating with her appearance on the world's most watched talent show. Here you can see her stellar appearance in Got Talent Spain.

Although leaving her on television and in prime time has helped her become better known, the truth is that Valeria has been sharing knowledge openly for four years through Valpat STEAM. With this YouTube channel, created together with her teacher Patricia Heredia, she seeks to inspire other girls to see how fun technology can be.

Despite her young age, she has already been recognized with numerous awards as a result of this outreach work. At the age of 10, she was named Inspiring Girl of the Year by the Inspiring Girls Foundation and in 2020 she was chosen as the best STEM high school student in Spain, at the STEM Talent Awards.

This year we will have the honor of having this little Great Maker during the education day, which will be held on Friday, June 4. In her talk, Valeria will tell us how she became interested in the maker world, her experience in international competitions or the aforementioned performance of her in Got Talent, where she left Risto Mejide himself with this face :)
