The 8th edition of the Maker Faire Galicia is here!!!

This year the Maker Faire Galicia welcomes the hybrid world from June 1 to 5, both at the Gaiás Museum of the City of Culture (Santiago de Compostela) and on our online platform, in an edition where we want to celebrate the reunion of the entire Maker Community.

After the Call for Makers closed last Thursday, March 31, we can tell you that for this edition we will have more than 60 projects from different parts of the world, very diverse and with a very high level. As is tradition, we will carry out project pitches both at the industry and educational conferences, where specialized juries will assess all the selected projects, choosing the most outstanding. In the open days, the public will choose their favorite projects, which will be announced at the end of the event, on Sunday, June 5.

Along with the projects, the presentations will be another of the highlights of the event and this year we will have both national and international references in the fields of startups, STEAM education, mental health, sustainability, inclusion or social innovation.

Pepe Martín, CEO of Minimalism, Gitanjali Rao, TED Talker and Time magazine's first girl of the year or Paco Ayala, founder of the Huerto Roma Verde project, are some of the speakers who will share knowledge with us.

Among the workshops on offer for this edition, a new edition of the Game Maker JAM stands out, the STEAM workshops by VermisLAB and the Code Week project, as well as some other surprises that we will reveal shortly. In the coming weeks we will launch the offer of workshops so that you can sign up in time and not miss out on a place.

The 8th edition of the Maker Faire Galicia will be held at the Gaiás Museum and has the support of the Xunta de Galicia, the Santiago City Council, the Cidade da Cultura Foundation and the Association for the Progress of Management (APD). It is carried out with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) - Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Remember that the registration of attendees to access online content is now open and is completely free.
